Super Help from H-E-B’s Souper Bowl of Caring

This week, H-E-B provided a $20,000 donation to the Food Bank representing a share of proceeds from its Souper Bowl of Caring activities in January and February.  The annual hunger awareness campaign tied to the festivities building up to the Super Bowl generates donations from H-E-B shoppers that the corporation translates into a significant contribution to support the work of food banks across the state of Texas. Fourth Annual Will Golf for Food Tournament Set for September 18

The Southeast Texas Food Bank's annual "Will Golf for Food" tournament to help generate funds for hunger relief in our area will be held at Bayou Din Golf Club at 8537 LaBelle Road in Beaumont on Friday, September 18. The tournament features morning and afternoon tee times, a shot-gun start, and door prizes.  Entry fee is $125 per golfer or $500 for a team of four.  Event sponsorships that offer recognition benefits including entry of a team of golfers at no additional cost are also available.  For more information, call the Food Bank at 409-839-8777. Stamp Out Hunger, May 9 – Coming to a Mail Box Near You!

  The annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive held by the National Association of Letter Carriers is set for Saturday, May 9.  Just put a bag of non-perishable food near your mailbox that morning before your mail delivery and your mail carrier will be able to get the bag delivered to the Food Bank.  It's that easy to turn an upcoming trip to the grocery store or your pantry into a food drive for the hungry!
