The Great American Milk Drive Has Begun! – Here’s a Chance to Boost Access to Milk for the Hungry

A joint initiative between Feeding America and the nation’s milk producers launched on Apr. 2 will provide the Southeast Texas Food Bank a way to access a rare commodity for its clients. Gallons of milk should soon be among the items available to clients of food pantries receiving food from the Southeast Texas Food Bank in Beaumont. Beaumont Foundation of America’s Extraordinary Gift

Beaumont Foundation of America President/CEO Frank Newton stopped at the Food Bank on Feb. 18 to deliver a $75,000 check representing the Foundation’s grant to the Food Bank for 2014.  This amazing gift will help the Food Bank provide about 300,000 meals this year.  What a great gift and blessing to the hungry in Southeast Texas!  Thank you to the Beaumont Foundation!

Second Annual Zumba Away Hunger Event is a Success!

The second annual Zumba Away Hunger event held at Ford Park on Saturday, Jan. 11 (some pictures below) drew nearly 200 people to a Zumba workout session and fitness concert that lasted more than two hours.  Those participating got fit while others got fed, thanks to their contributions of more than1,600 pounds of food and cash as part of their admission fee.
