The non-food donations made to the Southeast Texas Food Bank are an essential part of all the product which goes out for distribution. SNAP benefits do not provide for anything but food so this is a way to supply cleaning supplies, paper goods, personal care items and more to the public in need. This product is sorted entirely by our wonderful volunteers.
Every Friday afternoon from noon until 3:00 pm non-food is sorted in our non-food sorting area. We need 10 volunteers in each session to get this product sorted and out to the agencies so they may give it to the public. If you can help us by volunteering please click on the green “Volunteer Info” button at the top of the page and complete the Volunteer Application. Once you have completed the application click on the “Event Registration” link to see every event available, the dates and times. There is also a map if you need one. Preregistration is required to volunteer.
Volunteers need to be at least 18 years old. If you are 13 to 17 years old you are welcome if they are accompanied by an adult. Closed toed shoes are required and you may dress comfortably and reasonably. Remember this is a warehouse, you may get dirty. We also ask that volunteers refrain from using their cell phones while volunteering. If you need to take a call you may step into the lobby and please no headphones. This is for everyone’s safety!
If you have any questions please contact the volunteer coordinator at 409-839-8777 ext. 116
