We had a great turnout for the first Food Handlers Certification class at the Food Bank.
Paula Thacker, Orange County Extension Agent, has partnered with us to offer on-site training for our agencies on a regular basis. The Food Handlers class is not only informative, but also offers a chance for our agency representatives to network with their peers.
Without your help, Southeast Texas Food Bank would be unable to accomplish it’s vision of eliminating hunger and inadequate nutrition in Southeast Texas. Your generous donations of time and money make it possible for us to provide a helping hand when needed to hundreds of families in our area. If you would like to get involved, there are many ways to do so. Your cash donations are a critical part of our continued operations, but if you aren’t in a place to help financially, you can certainly volunteer in one of many ways.
With much appreciation, we celebrate the community participation in our annual Souper Bowl of Caring event. The purpose of the Souper Bowl of Caring is to transform the time around the Super Bowl into the nation's largest celebration of giving and serving. Our local H-E-B & Kroger stores provided an opportunity for our community to donate money or bags of food to end hunger in Southeast Texas. This event partners with the Super Bowl in sharing the spirit of fellowship, generosity and good food.
