Russell Folse, Featured Volunteer for April, 2014

Russell Folse, Volunteer of the Month, April 2014
SETXFB: How long have you been volunteering at the Southeast Texas Food Bank?
Russell: I have been volunteering since last October or November. I am fairly new but I enjoy it very much.

SETXFB: Can you tell us a little bit about the departments and projects you’ve worked with during that time?
Russell: I help sort food every Friday and I am going to help the staff on the new food sorting day of Wednesday. I also help with School Tools and Family Box day, those are the first and second Saturdays each month. One day a week I spend in non-food sorting.

SETXFB: What is your favorite volunteering memory at the Southeast Texas Food Bank?
Russell: To help God’s people and people who really need it. I also find the people, the staff, very helpful here and I enjoy working with them.

SETXFB: Why is it important for you to volunteer at the Southeast Texas Food Bank?
Russell: To help feed people and serve God.

SETXFB: Please tell us a little more about yourself.
Russell: I am retired from ExxonMobil and I love to play golf and I also volunteer with my church and a senior home.

SETXFB: What is your favorite kind of food?
Russell: Shrimp

SETXFB: What advice would you give to those interested in volunteering?
Russell: Jump in! Come on in and help, the people here are very good at helping you and it’s easy.

Thanks Russell for all your wonderful work and your willingness to pitch in anywhere you are needed.
