It’s Time to Give the Gift of Food for Christmas – The Share Your Christmas Food Drive

10/16/2018

It is time for our annual holiday season food drive and you hold the key to its success!

Can we count on you to collect food and/or money for the 12NEWS “Share Your Christmas” Food Drive? By joining in the drive, you can make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate whether you join forces with others for a food drive or contribute some food yourself.

Begin NOW collecting non-perishable food items and/or money. Groups can conduct a food drive by enlisting colleagues in your workplace, members of your church community, or other families in your school. Work together, have fun, and generate an impact!

If you lead a group food drive, place the donated items in sturdy boxes able to be lifted by an individual and boldly mark them with the name of the business, school, church, or group you represent. You may take food directly to the Southeast Texas Food Bank (3845 S. MLK Parkway, Beaumont). Or, you may call the Food Bank (409-839-8777) no later than November 30, 2018 to see if pickup of a load that may be too big for you to transport to the Food Bank is possible.

Individuals can participate, too, either by bringing items directly to the Food Bank (3845 S. MLK Parkway, Beaumont) between the hours of 8:30 and 3:00 p.m. on weekdays or by depositing them prior to December 6 at collection stations in any HEB, Kroger, or Market Basket stores or CommunityBank of Texas branches.
