A Double Food Drive Day

Entergy and the 4-H Club recently held separate food drives throughout Southeast Texas, bringing in almost eight full bins of food in one day.  We are grateful to these organizations for rallying around the cause of hunger and making the Food Bank a charity of choice.  Their volunteer spirit in getting out into the community and soliciting food on behalf of the hungry is a blessing to our community.

Special thanks also to Brookshire Brothers, H-E-B, Kroger, Market Basket, and Walmart for letting these groups hold a food drive at their stores.

What a great way to kickoff the start of a very active food drive season!

Did you know that a $10 donation can provide up to 30 meals for desperate people in your community? By making a donation, you are helping to ensure that hungry children in Southeast Texas are adequately nourished, that none of our senior citizens are forced to chose between medicine and food, and that every family facing a crisis can at least have the assurance of food on the table.

Your gift goes a long, long way!
