Boy Scouts and Food Bank Teaming Up on Annual Food Drive – February 23

The Three Rivers Council of Boy Scouts of America and the Southeast Texas Food Bank are partnering once again on the “Scouting for Food” drive to gather food for needy families in Southeast Texas. The Boy Scouts will deliver collection bags in numerous neighborhoods around the region on Saturday, February 16 and then return to retrieve those bags on Saturday, February 23, bringing your donated non-perishable food items to the Food Bank for distribution through its system of hunger fighting agencies.

Please be on the lookout for this food drive coming to your neighborhood and help out! If the Scouts do not drop off bags in your neighborhood and you wish to participate, please contact the Food Bank at 409-839-8777 to find a way you can distribute food or funds to help this drive be a success.

Did you know that a $10 donation can provide up to 30 meals for desperate people in your community? By making a donation, you are helping to ensure that hungry children in Southeast Texas are adequately nourished, that none of our senior citizens are forced to chose between medicine and food, and that every family facing a crisis can at least have the assurance of food on the table.

Your gift goes a long, long way!
