Chevron Phillips Helps Add Food Bank’s Backpack Program to Travis Elementary

Chevron Phillips has generously offered $10,000 in support of our Backpack Program to enable dozens of children at William B. Travis Elementary School in Port Arthur to receive packages of food to take home for weekends during 2014 to supplement their family’s food supply and insure those children have nutritious meal options in the coming year.
Pictured here for a check presentation are Dan Maher, Food Bank Executive Director; Vicki Derese, Public Affairs Manager for Chevron Phillips’ Port Arthur Plant; and Ramona Lee, Principal, Travis Elementary.
What a blessing it is to have great corporate partners like Chevron Phillips helping expand this program in Southeast Texas!

Did you know that a $10 donation can provide up to 30 meals for desperate people in your community? By making a donation, you are helping to ensure that hungry children in Southeast Texas are adequately nourished, that none of our senior citizens are forced to chose between medicine and food, and that every family facing a crisis can at least have the assurance of food on the table.

Your gift goes a long, long way!
