Empty Bowls Fundraiser

Groves Middle School Partners with Southeast Texas Food Bank to help Feed Community
An “Empty Bowls” fundraiser to help those in need of food

BEAUMONT, TX – May 3, 2022 – Join Groves Middle School for a “Empty Bowls” fundraiser benefiting the Southeast Texas Food Bank. The “Cinco de Mayo Celebration” event occurs on Thursday, May 5th from 5 – 7 PM at Groves Middle School.

For $15, community members can enjoy soup, chips, and select a handmade bowl. All bowls were created by the Middle School’s Art Department and 100% of funds raised will be donated to the food bank.

“We’re delighted that Groves Middle School has selected the food bank to be a recipient of their Empty Bowls fundraiser,” said Southeast Texas Food Bank President and CEO, Barbara Newhouse. “Due to COVID protocols, the event has been unable to occur in years past. We’re very much looking forward to this event and appreciate what the students and teachers have done to make it happen.”

Did you know that a $10 donation can provide up to 30 meals for desperate people in your community? By making a donation, you are helping to ensure that hungry children in Southeast Texas are adequately nourished, that none of our senior citizens are forced to chose between medicine and food, and that every family facing a crisis can at least have the assurance of food on the table.

Your gift goes a long, long way!
