Featured Volunteer – Billy Jackson

BillyAnother devoted volunteer here at the Food Bank is Billy Jackson.

Billy has volunteered for many years. Weekly, Billy is volunteering his time and only misses when he and his wife, Miriam, go on an exciting vacation together. Since his retirement in 1995 he is active and helps by providing assistance to elementary teachers that select school supplies for their students who may not have supplies. Monthly he volunteers his time with Family Box day. As a Distinguished Toastmaster, he will add yet another community service to his calendar by working with inmates to improve their speaking skills.

Seeing Billy’s smiling face each time he comes in the door is always welcome and we thank Billy for his time and devotion to our community.

Did you know that a $10 donation can provide up to 30 meals for desperate people in your community? By making a donation, you are helping to ensure that hungry children in Southeast Texas are adequately nourished, that none of our senior citizens are forced to chose between medicine and food, and that every family facing a crisis can at least have the assurance of food on the table.

Your gift goes a long, long way!
