The Southeast Texas Food Bank has many volunteer activities. Come alone or grab your friends and co-workers to volunteer at the Food Bank.

The Southeast Texas Food Bank has many volunteer opportunities, such as sorting food, creating meal boxes for Seniors, planting food in our new Enrichment Garden, helping to organize and sort supplies for our School Tools Program, and many other options! If you’re interested in getting involved or helping solve the problem of hunger in Southeast Texas, you’ve come to the right place!

Anyone over 18 years of age, are welcome to volunteer! Teenagers between 13 – 17 years old are welcome when accompanied by an adult. The accompanying adult must work with the teen and be registered for the shift. Children 12 years old and younger are allowed to volunteer with a parent present at remote locations, special events or the Enrichment Garden.

Volunteers should wear close-toed shoes and clothes appropriate to work in a warehouse, kitchen, or garden setting. No sandals/flip-flops, extremely short skirts/shorts or low-cut shirts. Individuals wearing opened toed shoes will not be allowed in warehouse areas.

All volunteers must register in advance for a session. We are unable to accommodate walk-in volunteers.

Yes, lockers are provided to you free of charge inside BLDG #2 Volunteer Services.

When you arrive, please check in BLDG #2 Volunteer Services to sign in and get daily assignment.

Please log into your account and un-register for that shift as soon as possible so others may fill that spot.

All employees, vendors, volunteers and visitors to any Southeast Texas Food Bank location and program sites are still required to follow our COVID protocol; handwashing and completing a fever check (facial scan upon entry.)

1) Stay home if sick.
2) Masks are optional. 
3) Use gloves during repackaging activities.
4) Capacity limits (discussed when planning groups.)
5) Sanitizing regularly.
