September is Hunger Action Month.
Join the movement to end hunger.

Help us collect 50,000 pounds of food this month!

It's as simple as taking 20 boxes (FREE to pick up at the Food Bank) Fill each box and at the end of the month, deliver to the Food Bank (or) call and arrange pick up.

"Spread the Love"

Collect all peanut butter and jelly products.

"Cereal Killers" End Hunger

Collect all cereal products.

"Thanks for Giving"

Collect all holiday meal items.

"MEAT the Need"

Collect all canned meats products.

Average filled box weighs 50lbs!

  • 20 boxes = 1,000 lbs
  • 50 Food Drive Participating Groups = 50,000 lbs

Hunger Action Month Calendar of Events

September 1st

Hunger Action Month Begins
KICK OFF Hunger Action month with a $50 donation and you’ll receive a BONUS “Fight Hunger” T-Shirt to help spread awareness during September’s Hunger Action Month! These shirts are limited, unique and one of a kind, designed by local Elementary Students. Wear your shirt ALL MONTH to help go Orange and spread hunger awareness in our community.

September 2nd

Plan A Labor of Love Food Drive
Organize a food drive during Hunger Action Month! Collect non-perishable food donations from September 1-30 to fight hunger in your community and raise awareness about the issues. Donations are shared with all of our Agency/Pantry locations.

September 5th

Get Your Business Involved
Organize a food drive as a competition or add a FUN Theme from the list below:

  • Thanks for Giving
  • Meat the Need

September 8th

Help Us Organize!
Come join us from 10:30-12:30pm as we fill Senior Boxes for community distribution.
11am-1pm Help sort food donations and prepare agency boxes.

September 9th

Prepare Senior Boxes
8am-10:30 Donate a bag of food and join us as we prepare Senior Boxes for the Community.
 
Did you know we serve over 2,700 Seniors each month?

September 11th

National Service Day
Thank you to all our volunteers who help us fight hunger.

September 12th

Jeans Day!
Hold a Company JEANS DAY, staff can donate $5 a day to wear jeans to work during the month of September.

* Did you know $5 = 15 meals?

September 15th

Hunger Action Day!
Wear your ORANGE – 8am-10:30am – Join us as we prepare Senior Boxes for the Community.

September 22nd

Veterans Stand Down
Beaumont Civic Center – Help us serve food boxes to those who served our country.

Sign up online, 2 shifts available (9am-11:30) or (11am-2pm).

September 23rd

Lamar University
vs.
Lincoln University
6:00 PM – Will be collecting Food Donations! Enjoy the Game and help fight hunger!

September 25th

Shark Attack On Hunger

This is the last week of Hunger Action, Host a Shark Attack Food Drive by collecting:

Tuna cans/pouches, Salmon cans, Goldfish crackers, Shell Pasta, etc. Use your imagination and go WILD!

For Hunger Action Month this September, Southeast Texas Food Bank will join Feeding America and other network member food banks to inspire people to take action and raise awareness of people facing the impossible choice of hunger. Food banks around the country are working to make a real and lasting impact on food insecurity in their communities, and they are asking for the public’s support.

These shirts are unique and one of a kind, designed by local Elementary Students. Wear your shirt ALL MONTH to help go Orange and spread hunger awareness in our community.
