Karen Brown, Director of Marketing and Communications

Karen Brown is responsible for the overall marketing strategy for the Southeast Texas Food Bank. She oversees media messaging to enhance public awareness and bring more volunteers to the organization. She has over 15 years of marketing and communications experience in both non-profit and for-profit work environments.

Karen was previously part of the development team at The Children’s Heart Foundation, where she developed fundraising collateral and marketing communication plans for the Congenital Heart Walks across the country. She also led fundraising partnerships and beneficiary outreach campaigns, and managed the CHW email and social media platforms. Private sector experience in the banking, real estate, and manufacturing industries included nationwide marketing and website programs and the development of training programs.

Karen holds a Bachelor Degree in Communications from Bradley University. She enjoys giving back to her community, particularly through volunteering at the Alzheimer’s Association and The Children’s Heart Foundation.
