Mobile Pantry Vehicle Making Some School Tools Runs

Our recently purchased mobile pantry vehicle designed to help take food distributions into communities which struggle to establish traditional brick and mortar pantries or to sites where our standard trucks cannot travel is proving its versatility by doubling as a delivery vehicle for school supplies while our School Tools operation remains closed to teacher visitation due to COVID-19.

Recently, our Children’s Program Coordinator Mary Simon turned it into Santa’s sleigh to carry the school supplies directly to some of our partner schools to let teachers and children claim items they need. This practice will continue to gradually roll out as a way to temporarily overcome the barriers COVID-19 has caused for our School Tools program.

Did you know that a $10 donation can provide up to 30 meals for desperate people in your community? By making a donation, you are helping to ensure that hungry children in Southeast Texas are adequately nourished, that none of our senior citizens are forced to chose between medicine and food, and that every family facing a crisis can at least have the assurance of food on the table.

Your gift goes a long, long way!
