Preparing to Serve in the Face of COVID-19

In coordination with Feeding America and Feeding Texas, the Southeast Texas Food Bank is actively monitoring developments related to the corona virus (COVID-19). We are taking proactive measures to protect the health and well being of our staff, volunteers and clients as we continue to serve the community.

All our volunteer activities remain scheduled and we are asking those who have signed up to volunteer, but who may feel ill, not to report to the Food Bank as a standard precautionary preventative action to keep other volunteers and staff safe.

Depending on future local developments, we may need the help of volunteers even more in the future if it should become necessary to respond to any emerging virus impact in our area by assembling additional Family boxes, Senior boxes and Children’s Backpacks.

We will continue to keep the community updated through our website and social media channels should there be any new developments or changes in our daily operations. As always, thank you for your support.

Food box or Backpack assembly activity through volunteers may need to increase if COVID-19’s impact ultimately affects Southeast Texas more directly.

Did you know that a $10 donation can provide up to 30 meals for desperate people in your community? By making a donation, you are helping to ensure that hungry children in Southeast Texas are adequately nourished, that none of our senior citizens are forced to chose between medicine and food, and that every family facing a crisis can at least have the assurance of food on the table.

Your gift goes a long, long way!
