About the Program
School Tools is one of 43 Resource Centers in the United States that provides school supplies for students who are economically disadvantaged. The school’s population must be 70% or higher of students receiving free or reduced lunch.
Our free store allows teachers at those schools to access the supplies six times per year. The teacher must be approved by the Principal of the respective school and they can select any three months from September – December. And, then again any three months from January – May.
The teachers in turn distribute the supplies to the children whose families cannot provide them. The School Tools program helps keep low-income children motivated in the learning environment and excited about classroom activities. Not having adequate school supplies can embarrass children and create low self- esteem.
Our goal is to ensure these children have the tools they need to succeed early in the educational process and have the ability to be on the same playing field as other students.
