Retail Pickup Program Boosted by $18,900 Grant from Walmart Foundation

We are pleased to announce that upon completion of the final six months of an 18-month grant cycle with the Walmart Foundation, we were among 33 food banks that received a grant in the amount of $18,900 in recognition of exceeding six percent growth in the amount of donated product reclaimed from national chain retailers for distribution to the hungry during July 2016 – December 2016 compared to July 2015 – December 2015.  This award brought our total support from the Walmart Foundation during that 18-month grant cycle to $38,900.

We are grateful for this support that Walmart provides to qualifying food banks for the purpose of strengthening their retail store pickup operations and we are proud of our Retail Pickup team of staff and drivers who made this success possible, as well as the local branches of those national retailers who cooperated with us.
