Senior Food Box Program Enrollments Under Way

The Southeast Texas Food Bank has been selected as a contractor for the federal Commodity Supplemental Food Program (Senior Food Box Program) to distribute 2,000 boxes of food to qualifying seniors each month. We are currently engaged in the enrollment process to identify up to 2,000 qualifying seniors and to develop a waiting list of seniors for future food distributions of these boxes.

Seniors who are 60 or older and whose income level is 130 percent or less of the federal poverty level for their household size are eligible to enroll.

Please see the accompanying flyer for more specific information.  If you or someone you know is eligible, please call the Food Bank at 409-839-8777 to learn the time and place of upcoming enrollments, so an enrollment can be completed.

Did you know that a $10 donation can help provide up to 40 meals for desperate people in your community? Rest assured, that every penny of your donation will be stretched to it’s maximum effect. By making a donation, you are helping to ensure that hungry children in Southeast Texas are adequately nourished, that none of our senior citizens are forced to chose between medicine and food, and that every family facing a crisis can at least have the assurance of food on the table.

Your gift goes a long, long way!
