Each year, the month of September is observed as Hunger Action Month. We encourage all members of the Southeast Texas community to take some action steps in September that can improve the circumstances of their neighbors who lack sufficient food.
Please use the accompanying schedule of daily suggested action steps to reduce hunger (linked below), as well as the individual and communal challenges issued within that schedule to find some inspiration this September.
In particular, we challenge our community to donate at least 1,000 contributed volunteer hours of service and 10,000 “new” pounds of food from food drives hosted by groups, organizations, churches, schools, or businesses that have not conducted food drives in the past.
