Several weeks before Christmas, the Food Bank invites the community to think about sharing its generous spirit through the annual Share Your Christmas Food Drive. This joint event with 12 News has helped feed Southeast Texans in the holiday season for more than two decades.
During this annual drive, the Food Bank gathers non-perishable food items and cash donations from participating individuals, businesses, civic and religious organizations, and schools to boost its inventory of food right before the Christmas season. We are challenging Southeast Texans to help us gather at least 75,000 pounds of food and $25,000 this year.
This year Share Your Christmas will run through December 3, 2015 with early drop off locations for food present in any local Community of Texas Bank branch or any local H-E-B, Kroger, or Market Basket. Food items may also be dropped off at the Southeast Texas Food Bank or funds may be mailed to the Food Bank.
Highly desirable food drive items include:
- Peanut Butter
- Chili
- Canned Stews
- Canned Soups
- Canned Luncheon Meats
- Canned Tuna or Chicken
- Canned Fruits or Vegetables
- Beans
- Rice
- Macaroni and Cheese
- Cereal
- Full Meals in a Can/Box
- Boxed or Canned Juices

Healthy options of these same foods, such as low sodium or no sugar versions are also highly desirable food donations.

Thank you for sharing your Christmas spirit and opening your hearts to the hungry in Southeast Texas!
