Southeast Texas Shares Its Bounty at Christmas

Southeast Texans pulled together on December 4 to wrap up the 20th Annual Share Your Christmas Food Drive for the benefit of those fed through the Southeast Texas Food Bank.

We extend a hearty thank you to 12News for its partnership in conducting the Share Your Christmas Food Drive with us. Remote broadcasts from three different sites yesterday made for a fun day for all involved and really helped spread the message of our mission and the impact we can have on hungry families and individuals when the whole community engages with the issue of hunger.

We are grateful for community partners who have been accepting food donations as drop-off locations (H-E-B, Kroger, Market Basket, and Community Bank of Texas). Please keep food donations coming at those locations or at the Food Bank in weeks ahead or make a cash gift through this website.

Thanks to the generosity of Southeast Texans, so far we have collected more than $21,000 and more than 46,500 pounds of food. In combination that will help us provide more than 100,000 meals through our partner agencies.

In this season of giving, thanks for showing that there are people who care enough to give to those most in need.

Did you know that a $10 donation can provide up to 30 meals for desperate people in your community? By making a donation, you are helping to ensure that hungry children in Southeast Texas are adequately nourished, that none of our senior citizens are forced to chose between medicine and food, and that every family facing a crisis can at least have the assurance of food on the table.

Your gift goes a long, long way!
