Star Campbell – Featured Volunteer

Star is 13 years old and is in the 8th grade attending Clute Intermediate School. Star is an A/B student in school and loves to help people. Star loves basketball and cheerleading. Music is a big part of her life, too.

She spends the summer with her Grandmother Ruby Owens who is on staff at the Southeast Texas Food Bank. Ms. Ruby runs the Retail Store and oversees the non-food area and this is where Star does most of her volunteering. Star is also very helpful in other areas such as office help. She is diligent to complete her tasks and does them with integrity. We are always happy to have her work with us because she is always happy, upbeat and ALWAYS has a smile on her face.

Star has completed 108.30 hours this summer alone and has a lifetime total of 135.45 hours. That is a wonderful amount of hours for one summer. We hope Star will be back next summer to help us again.

Did you know that a $10 donation can provide up to 30 meals for desperate people in your community? By making a donation, you are helping to ensure that hungry children in Southeast Texas are adequately nourished, that none of our senior citizens are forced to chose between medicine and food, and that every family facing a crisis can at least have the assurance of food on the table.

Your gift goes a long, long way!
