Wendi (Jones) Christian graduated from Port Neches-Groves High School in 1986, graduated from Texas State University in 1993 with her BBA in Accounting, earned her CPA credential in 1999, and graduated from Lamar University in 2018 with her Masters of Science in Accounting (MSA). She holds the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and Certified Global Management Accountant (CGMA) credentials. She spent three years in Japan from 1994 – 1997; in which time she partnered with the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program (VITA). Prior to moving back to Southeast Texas, Wendi lived in San Antonio for 14 years where she taught financial literacy classes to residents at the San Antonio Metropolitan Ministries (SAMMinistries). She enjoys sharing her financial knowledge.
Wendi is the Past President of the Accounting and Financial Women’s Alliance (AFWA); Past President of the Texas Society of CPAs – Southeast Texas Chapter; member of the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
She has over 30 years of work experience, eight years in tax and bookkeeping, 12 years as an accountant/analyst (with a focus in financial institutions), and 10 years as an internal auditor focusing specifically in IT and risk management.
Wendi has been married to Blaine for seven years and has three awesome “bonus” children – Meagan, Maddie and Jackson. She also loves to rescue fur babies. Her current fur baby is her dog Cheyenne, which she adopted back in 2015 from the Humane Society of Southeast Texas.
